Utrecht is the
railway hub of the Netherlands. Train service is excellent. There are several trains an hour from Schiphol Airport and Amsterdam to Utrecht. Both are about thirty minutes away. Bikes can be taken on the train outside of rush hour for 7 euros. Folding bikes are free and can be taken at any time. Amsterdam to Utrecht is a thirty-mile bike ride on an excellent scenic bike path.
To reach our house from the Utrecht Central Train station, take the #7 or # 55 bus. The bus leaves from D2 platform outside the train station. Visit https://www.u-ov.info/direct-naar/english for official information. The nearest bus stop to our house is Kleine Singel. From there it is a three-minute walk.
